Adam Sandoval, his chihuahua co-pilot Scooter and a group of supporters put their kickstands up just over a month ago, to travel across the nation -for one year- in honor of our active duty military, veterans, and their families. While also raising awareness and money for the American Legion Scholarship Fund.
Adam and Scooter will stop at every Harley Davidson dealership in their path, hosting meet and greet opportunities where local people can come together and support this great cause. So far along the way, the duo has taken part in a few spontaneous philanthropic activities. Including local rides to support Toys for Tots and a benefit ride for Earl, a parolee from the hit Animal Planet Show TV "Pit Bulls and Parolees," which took place at the Villalobos Rescue Center, in New Orleans.
Adam and Scooter have been cataloging their journey -every step of the way- on social media! Check them out on Facebook, Instagram & YouTube- to see which states and specific Harley Davidson locations they have visited, what fan questions have been answered, as well as what Adam has learned so far, about making a cross country trip with nothing more than the bags on his back, a motorcycle, and of course Scooter!
Adam and Scooter have an official website! SCOOTIN'AMERICA.COM! Recently, the website added some really cool features for all #ScootinAmerica supporters!
Using real-time GPS, you can now follow Adam and Scooter at every checkpoint on their route! This feature will definitely help if you and some friends would like to join the ride for a few miles and show support for this awesome cause.Adam and Scooters journey -to support fallen soldiers-would not be possible without generous supporter donations. They are proud to give 100% of the contributions made to the scholarship fund directly to the American Legion. Adam is spending his own life savings with support from sponsors to raise money and cover expenses for things such as food, gas and shelter when necessary during this trip- (because that's how he believes charity should work).
And that's why the donation feature on the website, shown above, is so important. Adam and Scooter are very proud of every American who has helped this cause, and #ScootinAmerican is "honored to ride for the children of those soldiers that gave their life for our freedom." The first American Legion Scholarship Fund check, pictured below, donated $4,681.00, all of which was raised within the first month of this charity ride. Imagine how much more can be raised over the next 11months!!
Thanks for reading! Make sure to follow their journey here on Crazy.Sexy.Cool!
